Contingency Fee Information
The Walkup firm and Latimer & Kenkel do not charge high contingency fees because we do not believe that would be fair to people affected by the fire. The fees charged by our team are less than the fees charged by other firms. Like other firms engaged in “fire case” litigation, our team is working on the basis of contingency fees, plus any court-ordered assessments. However, unlike firms which are charging 33-1/3%, 35% or 40%, our fees are lower. We are charging 25% if the case is resolved by way of settlement and 31% if a case is resolved by trial.
